I was born in Selden, NY to a Jewish mother and Italian Catholic father. Since then I’ve come to accept my abnormally large hair. As a child I was convinced that I was related to various historical figures such as Thomas Jefferson, Harry Houdini, and Sacajawea. It’s beside the point that I’m not British, Hungarian, or Native American.
In 1996 I moved with my family to Orlando, Fl where I was constantly mocked for my strong NY accent. In high school I dabbled with theatre and somehow became the president of the drama club. I went to Florida State University for college where I traded drama for acrobatics and performed with a circus. I have many awesome permanent scars.
Oh, I also got a Bachelor’s degree in literature and later a Master’s in Library and Information Sciences. I’ve had an array of interesting jobs, including: book seller for Borders (RIP), freelance writer, high school English teacher, magazine editor, and, now, librarian.
I have a husband, tiny apartment, and strong desire for a puppy of my own.
My first young adult novel is currently being queried. My second young adult novel is slowly being written.
